    In the name of God amen I Robert Patterson of the Township of Exeter County of Berks being weake of body But of Sound mind and Memory thanks be to God Do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament this fifth day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Six In manner and form following viz: Imprimis first of all I give and bequethe unto my well beloved wife Mary Patterson all my Plantation and tract of land Situate lying and being in the township of Exeter afforesaid Containing Sixty acres together with all the Buildings and Improvements with all my Stock of Cattle horses and all other the Creatures in my possession all the Which I give and Bequethe unto my Well beloved wife during the time that She Shall Live a Widow but If She Should Marry then She Shal have but the one (the one) third part that is above Mentioned During her natural life the other two thirds to be Equally divided amongst all my Children Except my youngest Son John Patterson Which I do order and appoint him to have five pounds over and above his Equal Share with the Rest but If She Should Live unmaried During her Natural life then at her Decease I Give Devise and Bequethe the whole amongst my five Children viz: Robert Abigail James Hannah and John to be Eqully Divided amongst them Except my Son John Patterson as before mentioned I do order and appoint him to have five pound more than his Equal Share with with the other four. Item I also Give and Bequeathe unto my Grandson Benjamin Patterson Son of my Son Samuel Patterson Deceased the Sum of five Shillings also I Give and Bequethe to my Grandson Robert Patterson Son of my Son Samuel Patterson Deceased the Sum of five Shillings I do also appoint and ordain my well Beloved wife Mary Patterson Executrix and my Friend John Harrison of union Township to be my Executor Joyntly with my wife of this my Last Will and Testament and that they and that they Discharge and performe the Same Justly and truely according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof and I do hereby Disallow Revoke and make voide all former will and Devises whatsoever allowing and Declareing this to be My Last will and testament In Witness whereof I have I have hereunto Set My hand and Seale the Day and year first above Written.

    Registers Office at Reading in Berks County April the 6th 1782 then Personally appeared Elisabeth Millard & John Harrison two of the Witnesses to the above Written Will and the said Elisabeth Millard upon her Solemn Oath and the Said John Harrison on his Solemn Affirmation according to Law did Severally Declare and Say that they were present and Saw & Heard Robert Patterson Sign Seal Pronounce Publish and Declare the foregoing writing to be his Last Will and Testament and that at the time of Doing thereof he was of Sound mind memory and under Standing as they verily believe and that the names of the Said Deponant & affirment Respectively by them Subscribed Elisabeth Millard her mark and John Harrison by Subscribing his name are of their own proper hand, and William Miller the other Witness in the presence of each other Subscribed his name thereto with his own hand, at the Request and in the presence of the Said Testator.
