1. Jane L. Coker was born in 1829 in Chester, Chester Co, South Carolina; died in 1880 in Benton, Lowndes Co, Alabama.
2. William Harbin Meek Coker was born in 1834 in Fayette Co, Georgia; died on 28 Jan 1869 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama.

James married Sarah Meek about 1800. Sarah was born in 1776 in South Carolina; died in 1806 in York Co, South Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Sarah Meek's husband's will dated 17 Mar 1800 in York Co, SC named Major Adam Meek and Edward Byers as two of his executors.
There was a Adam Meek 1860-1807 York Co SC; married Nancy Agnes Byers. He was son of Adam Meek 1726 and 1768, and Jean Mitchell - lived in Cecil Co, MD.

Nancy Byers had a brother Edward Byers. Adam was a Major (see Findagrave 28324143)

Sarah's b.d. generally accepted as 1776, but not proven. This rules out Adam Meek Sr. (he died in 1768). Adam Jr. only 16 years older. Is Sarah his sister, his daughter, his cousin?
