Said Barton Hungerford and John Gwinn, father of the above named Joseph Gwinn, had, by virtue of a writ of ad quad damnum, purchased out of the High Court of Chancery of Maryland, on Sep 26, 1724, laid out by Daniel Jenifer, Esq, then high Sheriff of CC, and by a jury then on the premises, Colo Robert Hanson, Surveyor, 12 acres on Bennets Branch at the head of Poteets Cr in CC, whereon to build a water mill, in pursuance of which inquisition, sd Barton Hungerford and John Gwinn obtained from the Governor or Chancellor, an 8 year lease, with the yearly rent of 4 bushels of Indian corn. Said John Gwinn, by his will, bequeathed his moiety of sd land to afd Joseph Gwinn. Now sd Joseph Gwinn, for 50 shillings, has sold to sd Barton Hungerford, one moiety or half part of the 12 acres.
