Notes:
JEREMIAH PATE was born about 1745 in probably Hanover County, Virginia a son of Edward Pate and Martha Tinsley Pate.
During the Revolution he was a Capt. in the Bedford County, Virginia Militia. Jeremiah was a small planter in Bedford and Botetourt Counties in Virginia. From the only references for Jeremiah's wife, she is known as Mary or "Polly". Her last name could have been Minor, as they named a son Minor Pate.
Jeremiah wrote his will April 4, 1797 in Botetourt County, Virginia and it was probated in July 1797, his wife was not mentioned, so it is assumed she was deceased by then. He left 3 minor children, Minor, Amelia and Rhoda. His will said he wanted these minor children to have an education.
