To Marie.... What a thought to know that on MADELINE'S death certificate, it says she was born in Galveston, Texas as well. She also past away here in Galveston. Her date of birth was 01/22/1886 time of death: 8/16/1951. She is buried at Calavary Cementary here in Galveston next to Frank Milina, her husband. dob:07/17/1881 death:12/25/1959
Do you know if he had any sister's that was one point in time before she married 12/17/1905, that she was a catholic nun with "Ursuline"? It was a convent, I believe here in Galveston. Maybe around the Storm of 1900? I do not know much about her family tree, yet." 12/09/2000

I am the Great Grand-daughter of Madaeline Milina. My mother was named after her. She is named Madaeline Sue Milina. Her biological father was Al George (Goo Goo), but she was raised by her uncle Marion Milina (Fats). I am not an expert when it comes to all of the current Milina family that is running around, but I can fill in any gaps or questions about Madaeline and Frank Milina. I can name all the children and most of the spouses. Yes, Madaeline Milina was a studying to be a nun when she met my Great Grandfather Frank Milina. She was still very young and wasnt an actual nun. They met right after the 1900 storm. Frank was running from his rich roots in Austria. From what I am told he was from a very wealthy family and he didnt want to live the life that was laid out in front of him. He was fluent in 7 different languages. He met Madaeline Manovich right after the 1900 storm when he was helping pick up and rebuild Galveston. She left the convent and married him. They had 10 children. The kids all had wierd nicknames. They were all boys and one girl. Two of their children died as a baby or child. The girl was named after her mother, Madaeline Milina. They called her Babe. Then my mom was also named after her grandmother... Madaeline Milina. Making a total of 3 Madaeline Milina's that have lived in Galveston. And I named my oldest daughter Madison... Same nick name as her grandma (Maddy). The boys names were Frank, Vernon, Eugene, Roy, Marion, Al George, and Tony. One of the children that died after birth was named Martin. If you have any questions that you want answers to please feel free to write me. qhward@live.com
