He moved to Lawrence Co IL in 1809 from Mason Co KY. The family originated in Warm Springs, Bath Co VA (fomerly Augusta Co VA). Fort Allison was located on his property and used as a shelter during the War of 1812. He was a lay preacher for the Primitive Baptist Church and a Blacksmith by trade. Samuel & Phoebe had 10 children, 7 sons & 3 daughters

attaching Samuel Veal Allison Sr. and Jonathan Allison, as well as a grandson, Joseph Allison, to Immigrant Joseph Allison, for study only - educated guess they are related due to common family connections of Young and Parker, and also location of Kentucky.
