There has been some speculation that she was a Bonham, and even perhaps the daughter of Ephraim Bonham and Susannah Jones of Philadelphia. They did have a daughter Susan, but she died as an infant.

Frederick Co. VA Will Book #11, page 70, In the name of God Amen, I Jane Madden of Frederick County, Virginia being of sound mind and memory, revoking all other wills by me made, do make this my last will and testament. Imprennis-?, I give to my daughter Ann Madden to her heirs forever all the corn and all the wheat what 'Baker' lard hogs and her choice of any one of my cows and my bay horse which I purchased from her which I may be possessed of at my death and it is my further will and desire that the ballance (sic) of my estate be divided equally amongst my daughters Ann Madden, Susanna Jones, Mariam Hunter, Jane Thomas and the heirs of Elizabeth Bulger and lastly I constitue (sic) and appint (sic) my son Mabra Madden Executor of this my last will and testament giving under my hand & seal this 14th day of March, eighteen hundred and fifteen.
