    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Immigration: 16 Dec 1860, "Bark Gaston," Wenglewo, Posen, Prussia

    Notes:

Anna Carolina Beyer was born 18 Feb 1843 in Wenglewo, Posen, Prussia, a small village about 2.5 miles north of Pudewitz, today called Pobiedziska, Poland. Her parents were Gottlieb & Anna Rosina Gall Kunkel. Anna Rosina Gall is also the mother of Christian Kunkel (Memorial #68969652)of Comal Co, TX, and John Kunkel (Memorial #10380946) of Bastrop Co, TX, and Gottlieb Kunkel (Memorial #69724225) of Bastrop Co., and later, Coryell Co., Texas.

Caroline Kunkel arrived in Galveston, December 16, 1860 aboard the bark Gaston, with Gottlieb and Augusta Krueger Kunkel (buried in Copperas Cove, Coryell Co., TX) and later married August Beyer.

She is mentioned as a "half-sister" to Christian Kunkel in his 1916 Comal Co. obituary. But it should be noted that "half-sister" is not entirely accurate. When Christoph, the father of her brothers John, Christian, and Gottlieb, died in 1836, Anna Rosina Gall married Christoph's brother, Gottlieb, and so there was the same Kunkel and Gall blood running through the "half-sister" Carolina's veins as there was running through her brothers.
