from Mary Varner maryvarner@ameritech.net 2/19/99: Did you know Amelia Wood Compton
was 1/2 Delaware Indian of the Algonquin Tribe? As a child I'd heard this but, no one seemed to know anymore or wouldn't tell if they did. I got this off a Query and email back last night.

d/o Dickerson Wood, Jr and Hannah Withers (of Fauquier Co, VA)
Dickerson Wood Jr. s/o D. Wood Sr and Mary (?) Is Mary the Indian? If so, Amelia would be 1/4; and Dickerson Jr 1/2. Maternal line is all accounted for. This would be only suspect.
