Solomon married Elizabeth Dukes about 1807. Elizabeth (daughter of William Thornton (aka Green) and Sarah Dukes) was born in 1774 in Bute Co, North Carolina; died about 1825 in Muhlenberg Co, Kentucky. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

According to Muhlenberg County, Kentucky; Turner Publishing, Paducah, KY, 1996, p. 120, col. 1 bottom, Elizabeth and William Dukes were the out-of-wedlock children of Sarah Duke. They were awarded to Samuel Dukes, Jr., in a Bute Co., NC, court of law on Feb. 8, 1779, when Elizabeth was five and William was three. Samuel and Wennifred raised the children. Elizabeth came with them to Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.

WFT vol 5, Tree #1716 has Elizabeth marrying John Shutt on Feb. 5, 1825 in Muhlenberg County. However, according to Carol Tefft, ctefft@pacbell.net, on 1 Nov 2000, this appears to be another Elizabeth Groves.

William married Sarah Dukes(not married). Sarah (daughter of Samuel Dukes, (son?) and Sarah (Pernecia) Green) was born about 1754; died after 1780 in of, Bute Co, North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

If dates are correct, then Samuel is son of somebody else. Needs research.
