Title: James Hickey
It is believed that James (born 1805) and his wife Nancy (Baker) migrated to Pope County from Tennessee with James' father and brothers between 1825 and 1830. They settled in Union Township, Pope County. James was elected Justice of the Peace of Martin township in 1865. He died in Johnson county in 1878.
My great grandfather John Richard was born in McNairy County Tennessee, 14, Dec 1824. He married Margaret Macom the 12th of Nov, 1848, the daughter of Abner and Elizabeth (Vaughn) Macom. Besides being known as the county doctor, John R. was also the first teacher of the first school located at the Hagerville Cemetery, Johnson Co. and helped his neighbor Henry Murry build the first grist mill located on the Little Piney. He served in the Civil War for the south, and served in the Mexican American War in the 1st Reg. Ark, Calvary G.W Patricks Co. Yell Reg, for which he recieved 160 acres of land as bounty for service.
Alvin "H" my grandfather was the eldest son of John R. and Margaret Macom, born 19 Aug 1849 in Pope Co. Other Children included Sarah Elizabeth born 21 March 1851, James Monroe born 27, Feb 1853, Charles M. born 2 Feb 1855, Malinda born ca 1857, George born 18 March 1859, William J. "Bill" born 7 Oct 1863, Andrew Newton "Bud" born 30 March 1865, Nancy Jane orn 25 November 1867 and John McConnell born 9 Dec 1870. John R. and Margaret died on the homestead and are buried in Hagarville Cemetery.
Alvin married late in life. In the early 1900's he met Janie Jones, daughter of James and Ann Jones of near Clarksville, Ark, and they wed even though he was thrity years her senior. They lived in Madison and Crawford Counties, then moved to Oklahoma, thinking the change in climate might improve his "rheumatiz". They had four children which include John, Jude Richard, Wylie, and Margaret.
Jude, my father was born 1, Dec 1906 in Alma Ark. Alvins health continued to fail, so Jane took a job in a Muskogee laundry. Jude was with his father when he passed away 5, March 1912. He was buried next to his father in Hagarville cemetery. The children were orphaned when Jane died in 1918, so the boys did odd jobs for room and board until they were of age. The Hickeys offered to take the children and help Jane raise them but she had become accustomed to Okla. and relied on her family.
Jude met and married Susie Harris May 17, 1932 in Wagoner OK. They settled near Brushy Mt. South of Muskogee, where they raised seven children. John Richard, a Baptist Minister and construction worker in Tulsa. Jack Lewis, who lives in Dallas, Bill now deceased, who owned a greenhouse in Houston TX, Laura Mae, who lives in Porter, Ruth a nurse who lives in Muskogee, Mack Leeroy, a Business Mgt. Major from NSU who lives in Tulsa, and Kathy Sue a nurses aid who lives south of Muskogee. They have sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Jude passed away 14, Feb 1971. Susie lives in Muskogee OK.

Please Note that there is no evidence at this time that James' middle name was Monroe. However there is another younger James Monroe in this family. It is believed that the older James you are referring to in this comment most likely had the middle name of Monroe but unless you have found documentation to prove this it is yet unproven.
