    Graveside services with full military honors for Wiley Franklin Myers, 72, of Huntington, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chester, Texas with Pastor Delbert Lamb officiating. Taps will be played by his nephew, Ed Lee.

    Wiley Franklin Myers went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2012 at his residence in Huntington, Texas. Mr. Myers, the son of the late Nannie (Neal) and John Morris Myers, was born August 23, 1940 in Corrigan, Texas.

    Mr. Myers graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas and was a firefighter for Port Neches, Texas Fire Department. He was also a Licensed Vocational Nurse. He loved fishing and music. He also had a nice collection of Louis Lā'Amour books, which he enjoyed reading. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Myers served his country with the United States Army in the Korean War.

    He is survived by his wife, Roberta Irene Myers; daughter and husband, Betsy Richter and Mark of Silsbee; step-daughter, Heather Moya of Richardson; step-son, DaWayne Goforth; grandson, Justin Richter of Silsbee; granddaughter, Ashley Richter of Silsbee; step-grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella and Joshua Moya, Jennifer Weaver; step-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Payton Weaver; sister, Betty Mosley of Beaumont; sister and brother-in-law, Cecile and Delbert Lamb of Woodville; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Donna Myers of Fannett, Texas.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Morris Myers and sister, Shirley Myers Nelson.

    Pallbearers will be Vernon Green, Sr., Mike Sanford, Rick Caldwell, Henry Lowery, Robert Mosley and Buster Myers.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice In The Pines, 1504 West. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday before the service at Gipson Funeral Home. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
