8. | Casper Branner Blackburn was born on 12 Apr 1830 in Dandridge, Jefferson Co, Tennessee (son of John H. Blackburn and Christina Branner); died on 25 Dec 1897 in Decatur, Wise Co, Texas. Notes:

He was born in Jefferson County, Tennessee, and went to Missouri with his parents in his childhood and lived in Moniteau county. After his marriage in Missour, they went to Benton County, Arkansas, and remained there until the outbreak of the civil war. They then returned to Moniteau county, Missouri. He entered the federal army and served four years. He was discharged at Rolla, Missour, March 5, 1864. Henry N. North commanding: James A. Eppstein, Lieutenant Colonel.
About 1876 he moved to Texas and lived at Birdville near Fort Worth; he lived there two years and moved to Decatur, then to Weatherford, thence to Bridgeport, where he remained until 1897, and then returned to Decatur where he died. His wife died in Wise County, Texas, and was buried there. Casper Blackburn had blue eyes like his mother.
