Thanks for your note. Archibald is definitely NOT a child of John Blackburn and Elizabeth from Loughgall. Somebody somewhere along the line placed him in there. Archibald never appears in Quaker records or family records of any kind and there is nothing even circumstantial to connect them. Also, to top it off, I have a DNA sample from a Blackburn from the line of John Blackburn and Janet Mathews and the DNA sample doesn't match, so we also know scientifically that there is no genetic connection. Archibald's ancestry is unknown to this point.
Thanks, Kevin Howley

"The history of my line is sketchy but not without some evidence -- both circumstantial and otherwise. John and Elizabeth Blackburn were early residents of the north of Ireland. Where they came from is unknown. It is assumed that they came from England, but they could have been Irish natives as well. The first record of John comes in the 1660s. As a Quaker he refused to pay tithes and for this he was reprimanded. This became public record. John Blackburn's death occurred in 1723 in Loughgall and Elizabeth's on 11 Aug 1713 at Loughgall as well. This information comes from the Quaker records."
