This Edward Blakemore could be the III? Said to be Jr., b 1628 England and married to Hannah Rogers; but too old to be married to Hannah Rogers. Edward Jr. said to be son of Edward and Frances Eames.
The Blakemore family in Lancaster County, Virginia, came apparently from the County Devon area of England. Some think that the family came from near Birmingham, England. It appears that members of the family were residents of the English Counties of Essex, Devon, Carmarthen, Kent, Monmouth and London. They were mostly landed gentry and yeomen. There is no present positive information as to the exact location of the birth place of Edward Blakemore, Jr. Major Maurice Neville Blakemore wrote that the Blakemore family came particularly from Parracombe and Ottery St. Mary, County Devon, England.
