Just some general information. As you know, our Peter had an uncle Peter (Old Peter). This is the Peter (Old Peter) that was married to Elizabeth Hollingsworth and who was killed by Indians in Tennessee in 1781. Peter and Elizabeth
had a son named Peter (who was married to Mary Mcilroy).
This Peter (the son of Peter and Elizabeth - husband of Mary) is the Peter who's Revolutionary War papers are on file in Raleigh North Carolina.

All I know about Peter Renfroe is that he had to be in the Cumberland area by June 1, 1780 because he recieved one of the land grants refered to as "Preemptions." In "History of Middle Tennessee or the Life and Times of Gen. James Roberson" first published in 1859 by W. A. Putman it states in Chapter V II 1781, "Peter Renfroe, killed between that station (Freeland's Station) and the Sulpher Spring" it also tells about the struggle Peter must have put up. In J.G.M. Ramsey's "Annals of Tennessee" published in 1853 in refers to him as "old Peter Renfoe" he also list a Barlett
Renfore as being killed.
