Allen Snider Died Thursday in Quincy
Allen D. Snider, retired farmer of Jersey County who resided at 408 Minard Street in Jerseyvi lle, died at twelve-thirty o'clock p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Soldiers and Saliors Home i n Quincy, where he had been for the past fifteen days.
Mr. Snider, a son of the late John and Mary Hyatt Snider, was born May 15, 1887, and his ag e at the time of death was sixty-eight years, one month and one day. he was a veteran of Wor ld War I.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary M. Snider; one step daughter, Mrs. William Se ehausen, Fieldon; one brother, Ernest A. Snider of Alton and two sisters, Mrs. Wylis Arnett o f Carlinville and Mrs. Elery Sheff of Los Angeles, California.
Funeral services were held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, June 19, at one- thirty o'clock with Reverend Walter Stogdill officiating. Interment was in the Fieldon Cemet ery.
Mimlitary services were held under the auspices of the Worthey Post, American Legion, No. 492 , and VFW Post NO. 4528, Jerseyville
