Mr .and Mrs. Howard Worsham of 914 East Fourth street are the parents of a daughter, born thi s morning. The baby is the couple's first child. Mrs. Worsham was before her marriage, Miss M ildred Matthews.

On Jul y 4, 1947, she married Percy Hickerson in Alton. He preceded her in 1967. On June 5, 1969, sh e married Paul Vanek in Nashua, Iowa. Elba was employed at Hinsdale Hospital as supervisor o f the telecommunications department for 23 years before her retirement in 1990. In 1991, Elb a and Paul retired to Coloma. She was a member of Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hi nsdale and Pioneer Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berrien Springs. She enjoyed flower garden ing, crocheting and knitting.Mrs. Vanek is survived by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Pegg y (George) Walker of Coloma; two grandchildren, Jessica (Jacob) Nunley and Nicholas Walker; h er sister, Jackie (Earl) Traylor of Alton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.Elba was pre ceded in death by her first husband, Percy Hickerson; her daughter, Pamela Hickerson, in 1949 ; two brothers, Gary and Larry Worsham; and her sister, Sandra Harris.
