Robert Sheff Dies At Hamilton. Mont.
Former Alton Man Succumbs to Gunshot Wound
Mrs. Ralph Drury of Godfrey received word Sunday of the death of her brother, Robert Sheff o f Hamilton, Mont., formerly of Alton.
Sheff, a veteran of World War II. had been in ill health since his release from the service . Death was due to a gunshot wound,
Sheff was born in Alton, Oct. 2, 1912, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elery Sheff of Los Angeles, Cali f., for many years residents of Alton.
Robert Sheff attended the Alton schools and was a student at Alton High School before enlisti ng in the
navy at tho age of 17. While residing in California he was employed by MGM studios. During th e time
he was In service he had served for 18 months on the Island of Luzon.
Surviving, in addition to his parenis, are his widow, Mrs. Eva Bean Sheff; a daughter, Lamar , 17, and a son, Bobby, 10, three sisters, Mrs. Adallne Drury and Misses Marlene and Marcel la Sheff, Los Angeles, and six brothers, Chester, Leroy, Harold, Paul, David, and Richard, a ll of Los Angeles,
Funeral rites will be held Wednesday at Hamilton, Mont.
