Garry Rush Jr.
GRAFTON - Garry Phillip Rush Jr., 24, died at 9:32 p.m. Friday, March 7, 1997, from injurie s sustained in a motorcycle accident on Broadway in Alton.
He was a 1990 graduate of Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, where he participate d on the Panther football team, and a 1995 graduate of ITT Technical School, where he earne d his degree in computer drafting. After his graduation, he was employed at Cope Plastics i n Alton and had recently begun working at Beall Tool and Die in East Alton.
Born in Alton on Sept. 20, 1972, he was the son of Garry Phillip and Evelyn (Presley) Rush o f Grafton.
In addition to his parents, surviving are a son, Adam Damm of Godfrey; a sister, Kelli (Rusty ) Wittman of Jerseyville; two nephews, Mitch Russell and Stone Rush Wittman; and his paterna l grandparents, Phil and Inez Rush of Fosterburg.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Helen Presley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Crawford-Holden Funeral Home in Jerseyville,
where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Father William Hembrow of Holy Ghost Catholic Churc h of Jerseyville, where Garry was baptized, will officiate.
He will be laid to rest in Meadowbranch Cemetery in rural Grafton.
Memorials may be made to his parents in care of the funeral home, to be used for a trust fun d for his son.
