ALTON
Vera A. Geske, 93, formerly of Hardin, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at Robings
Manor Nursing Home in Brighton.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1912, in Naples, Ill., daughter of Tonie and Edna (Dennis) Kress.
She married Samuel A. Geske in Granite City on July 3, 1929, and he is deceased.
A nurse's aide, she worked in both the Hardin and Godfrey areas. She was a member of the Firs t Baptist Church of Godfrey.
Survivors include three sons, Edward (Bettie) Geske of Godfrey, Earl (Caroline) Geske of Napa , Calif., and Eldon "Mike" (Phyllis) Geske of Granite City; three daughters, Leona (Mike)
Barnett of Brighton, Lela (Robert) Ulery of East Alton, and Lois (Gerald) Scott of Oak Ridge , Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, her parents; a granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Geske; a great-grandson , Joshua Michael Horn; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Fae Kress, and Gladys and Maurice Du ll preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hanks- Gubser Funeral Home Hardin, where Stev e Rice and Rich Barnett will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be at Indian Creek Cemetery, Hamburg. Memorials may be given to a charity of one' s choice.
