- Find A Grave Memorial# 19568911 San Augustine, Aug. 11.-Another one of the veterans of 1836, Rod Anthony, died at his home three miles northeast of this place on the 7th inst. He was born on the 14th of April, 1805, moved with his parents to Bedford county, Tennessee, when quite a boy, and moved from there to San Augustine in 1832, where he has continuously resided since that time. He married Cynthia Brown in Tennessee when only eighteen years of age, by whom he was father of ten children, all of whom survive him, but the youngest is now forty-seven years of age. "Uncle Rod" as he has been called familiarly for many years, was always on the side of law and order. Once county judge, twice sheriff, he filled both positions creditably.
