We, James Scott of Prince William County, Virginia, Richard Brown, Isaac Campbell, John Clegatt, Thomas Bond, Henry Thelkkeld, Gustavus Richard Brown, and Thomas Stone of Maryland, for the love we have for Ann Horner of CC, widow of Robert Horner, decd, and for Robert Horner, Gustavus Brown Horner, John Terry Horner, William Horner, and James Scott Horner, her children, & for the support and maintenance of sd Ann, we hereby give Ann and her children afd, the following sums o fmoney, that is to say, James Scott gives 50 £, Richard Brown gives 50 £ ,Isaac Campbell gives 50 £, Thomas John Clegatt gives [blank], Thomas Bond gives 30 £, Henry Threlkeld gives [blank], Gustavus Richard Brown gives 15 £, and Thomas Stone gives 10 £. Sd money is to be used to purchase the following Negroes, to wit, a man called Hollyhy, and a woman called Pegg, with Celia, her child, and Sam & Nell, the children of Monica, and as many more Negroes and other necessaries as sd money will pay for, to sd Ann, during her natural life, so that Ann can support and maintain herself and her children afd, without wasting the principal stock of Negroes. After the death of Ann, the Negroes are to go to the afd grantors, to be equally divided between them. The legal estate of the afd Negroes and other things bought with the money afd, is vested in sd children of Ann, and the children shall have them upon the death of Ann.
