- THOMAS HAWKINS HANSON (Colonel Samuel, Judge Samuel, [1684-1740], John Hanson [16__-1714]), son of Samuel Hanson and Anne (Hawkins), was born about 1750 in Port Tobacco Hundred, Charles County. At the beginning of the Revolutionary War, he commanded a compnay of the Flying Camp compose dof men from Charles County and saw active service in the early campai gnaround New York. He received a Revolutionary pension claim (no. 1678 3).
On March 2, 1778, he married REBECCA DULANY, daughter of WALTER DULANY and Mary (Grafton) of Annapolis, but more recently the wealthy widow of Thomas Addison, of Oxon Hill Manor, Prince George Co.
Children of Thomas and Rebecca (Dulany) Hanson:
i. Grafton Dulany Hanson, b. Sept. 17, 1783. q.v.
ii. Rebecca Hanson, b. Nov. 25, 1784.
iii. Samuel H. Hanson, b. Aug. 4, 1786, married Eleanor Bayly. License D. C., March 13, 1817. q. v.
iv. Thomas H. Hanson, b. mar. 4, 1792, married Elizabeth Beall. q. v.
Thomas Hawkins died intestate, when letters of administration were issued to his step-son Thomas Grafton Addison on November 10, 1810.

THOMAS HAWKINS HANSON5 (1792-18—)
Thomas Hawkins Hanson, son of Thomas Hawkins and Rebecca (Dulany) Hanson, was born March 4, 1792, at Oxon Hill Manor, Prince Georges County. On February 10, 1802, he obtained license in Washington to marry Elizabeth Beall. She was the daughter of Captain William Dent Beall, a distinguished officer of the Revolutionary Army and member of the Society of the Cincinnati.
On May 16, 1831, Thomas H. Hanson and Elizabeth his wife, Issac B. Beall, and Mary Beall, the heirs of William Dent Beall, deceased, of Prince Georges County, received from Clement Smith and Daniel Kurtz, of Georgetown, and Richard Smith, of Washington, the tract "Independence", lying partly in Prince Georges and Charles Counties which the late WilliamDent Beall had conveyed to Clement Smith.1
It is said that Thomas Hawkins Hanson ultimately settled in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he died leaving a large issue.

Whereas the afd William Baker, William Bayly, and Anthony Addiso nstand bound for the sd Hanson in a large debt of tobacco as securitie sto John Sutton of Alexandria, and whereas sd William Baker only stand sbound for the sd Hanson as security in a debt of money to Robert Dick o fBladensburgh to Sarah Williams of Philadelphia and to Ebsworth Bayne near Broad Cr, each in separate bonds, to a considerable amount, and further, for the payment of 5 shillings specie to sd Hanson in hand paid b ysd Baker, Bayly, & Addison, sd Thomas Hanson to secure and save harml essthe sd Baker, Bayley, and Addison against the sd John Button's debt , andto secure and save harmless the sd Baker from the other debts afd , hassold to the afd Baker, Addison, and Bayly, all that tract of land i n CCcalled Aquinsick and Laurel Branch, containing 680 acres, and also 4 other tracts of land in Washington County, viz, Horse Lick, Dogwood Plains, Walnut Level, and Locust Thicket, containing in the whole, about 1200 acres. Also, about 1600 acres of land in Baltimore County, bought of Horatio Belt by sd Hanson, and which he may be entitled to, either in la wor equity. Also my Negroes, Judy, Lucy, Big Kate, Little Kate, Else, B igNed, Little Ned, Tom, Bruce, House Tom, Billy, Jim, and all my right t othe estate of the late Thomas Addison Esq deed, being my wife, Rebecca's, right of dower in the sd estate. Also my book of accounts and balances and accounts due in the same as partner with my brother, Sam Hanson. Also my bond from Horatio Belt of Baltimore County, and also my bonds, due me from Leonard Marbury of Georgia, and all other debts that ma yappear to be due me. Also all my horses and stock, my plate and household furniture. If, however, sd Thomas Hanson pays the above debt to John Sutton, and the above debts to Robert Dick, Sarah Williams, and Ebsworth Bayne, and saves harmless and from all damage, the afd William Baker, William Bayly, and Anthony Addison, against all of the afd claimant sin consequence of the sd Baker, Bayly, and Addison being security for the sd Hanson, then the above deed to be void.
