Comment: This record is found after the Nov. 1672 Court had adjourned but before the Jan. 1672/3 Court had commenced. The significance of the record is that it shows that Mary's husband, Bartholomew Coates, was deceased by Nov. 1672. He was still living on Dec. 30, 1671 when he appraised James Lindsay's inventory. The Sheriff tried to serve Mary again and at the Mar. 1672/3 Court he reported that she had been served but nothing further was found about the case.
