Edmund Howard Clarke of Charles County Enters the following Deed of Guift for his Daughter Elizabeth Howard Charles County
To all Christian People to whome these presents Shall Come Greeting Know yee that I Edmund Howard of Charles County in the province of Maryland Gent: for the Natural Love and Affection which I Have and doe beare Unto my Deare and Well beloved Daughter Elizabeth Howard and for divers other Causes and Considerations at this time me Especially moving Have Given Granted Assigned and made over Unto my said Deare and well Beloved Daughter Eliza Howard all my Right Title Interest Claime and Demand of anf to one Negro Girle Commonly Called and Knowne by the named of Black Nann with all her Increase to be Delivered to my said Daughter at her Arrivall to Sixteen yeares of Age or Marriage which Shall first happen To have And to hold the Said Negro Girle and her Increase aforesaid to my Said Daughter Elizabeth Howard and the Heirs of her body Lawfully begotten forever and if it Should please God that my Said Daughter Should Depart this life before She Should arrive to the age of Sixteen yeares or Marriage or for Default of Lawfull Issue Then I Doe Give the Said Negro Girle and her Increase aforesaid unto my youngest Sonne borne of the body of my now Deare wife Margarett Howard that Shall be then Living And to his lineall Lawfull Heirs forever without any manner of Claims Demand or Challenge of me my Heirs Executors or administrator or of any other person or persons whatsoever for me in my name by my Cause meanes or procurement and without any money or other Thing there for to be yeilded payed or Done unto me the Said Edmund Howard my heirs Executors administrators or Assignes to the Uses aforesaid against All people doe warrant and Defend by These presents In Witnesses whereof

Item. I give bequeath and confirm unto my well beloved eldest son Wm. Stevens HOWARD one hundred acres of land where upon he now lives to have & to hold the same during his natural life and after his decease to his heirs lawfully begotten or to be begotten and for default of such heirs, then I give the same unto my dear only daughter Elizabeth HOWARD of the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten and for default of such heirs then I give the same to my son John HOWARD and to his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my said well beloved son Wm. Stevens HOWARD and his heirs or assignees one negro lad named Peter already in his possession, also one mulatto man and woman named Scipio and Florence, also one mulatto girl named Bess, one gold seal ring & my silver headed cane.
1709: Listed in her father's will as "only daughter," also not to inherit until she reached the age of 16.

To only dau. Eiza: and hrs., that part of Saturday Work belonging to testator, at 16 yrs. or marriage, and negro as per recorded deed of gift in Chas. Co.
7 July 1716: WILL: To neice and god dau Elizabeth (dau of eldest bro William Stevens Howard) personalty. To god-daus Rebecka dau of cousin Geo Dent, and Ann dau of Thos Skinner, personalty. To nephew Thomas (son of bro Thomas Howard) residue of estate.
