Dr. Joseph Moffatt practiced in Brimfield for more than forty years, where he was born. He died Aug 12, 1802."

Joseph was a physician and was ancestor of the Watertown NY Moffetts and he was a Revolutionary War veteran. He resided in Brimfield, MA.
A descendant of Joseph and Lois has in her possession a small etching of a water fountain, which contains two locks of hair from Joseph and Lois Moffett, said to be saved from their wedding day.
Information in family files indicates that Lois was born about 1745 and died in 1836. Dr. Joseph was first m. to Margaret Bliss and their children were as follows:

Wyllis 1770, Oct 12 - *** SPECULATION that he might be named for ancestor surname WALLIS - longtime near neighbors of Andersons in Brimfield/So Brimfield/Holland et al.
