another Gussie Carr |
- this Cornelius and Augusta (Gussie) Carr who were in Beaumont in the 30s were old enough to be this Gussie's parents; however they are listed in 1920 census, and have two children, Mary and son Emile. Mary was b 1917; so she would have been old enough to be Amos Jewel's mother (1934). Her name would have had to be Mary Augusta or something since she went by "Gussie" but Mary in 1920 census. Also, Where would Martin have come in?
If dau of Cornelus and Augusta was Harvey's wife, she would not likely have been married before.
Got to be close but....
Mother seems to remember she had several children. Apparently Carr was maiden; and Martin was her first marriage.

Notes |
- Family info says that she and Amos might have lived in Houston. 1951 Houston City directly shows two Gussie Jones:
Gussie dom h 1618 Live Oak
Gussie mail 3044 Reba dr. r2420 Pierce
It is not known if she remarried after div from Harvey or if she continued to use the same name.
Amos would be 17 in this year, and there are two Amos Jones listed in the same 1951 Houston director but had different initials than our Amos and both were married with jobs; so doubtful they were ours.
