- Stephen and Rachel moved from Queensbury, NY, in 1814 to join the Monthly Meeting and raise their family in Collins Center.
Stephen was the great-great grandson of James Sisson, whose wife, Lydia Hathaway Sisson was the daughter of Sarah Cooke 1633-1712, a descendant of Francis Cooke 1587-1663 and Richard Warren, both of whom were Mayflower Passengers.
In addition, Stephen was the great grandson of William Sisson b 1723 who married Lydia Potter, 1727-1790. Lydia was the daughter of Nathaniel Potter and Mary Devol, a descendant of George Soule, another Mayflower Descendant.
Stephen's mother, Grace Gifford, was also a descendant of George Soule.
