Notes |
- Daughter of John & Mary Elizabeth (Moyers) Paaarks. First wife of Hawkins (Hawk) B. Wheeler Married Aug 04, 1871. Soon after the marriage, the went to Slaughtersville, KY where her husband was a school teacher, later to become Superintendent of Schools. Family legends have indicated that she went to McAlister, OK to live with her son, John Morgan Wheeler. This has not been confirmed, because recent found records confirm that John Morgan is buried in the Robinson Cemetery, Gallatin Co., KY. And much more recently, records have been located that Amanda is buried in the Petersburg Cemetery in Sebree, Webster Co., KY. Records have been found of the burial site of three of her infant children in the Craig Cemetery on the Ernest Hawkins farm approximately three miles north of Nebo, KY. Now it will be possible to link Amanda to her father and mother and the three infants.
