Other Kerfoots as well as a couple of Rust families, a Moffett and a Glasscock in the same community, all related families.
In 2019 the Clarke County Historical Assoc., in Berryville, VA was given a store ledger from Berryville covering 1818-1819. It included Mabra Madden who shopped there in late 1818 & early 1819. "The real Estate of Mabra Madden, Junr, decd, was sold as directed in his will. The widdow was entitled to the use of it until the day of her death which took place on the 13th day of Aug 1840. "
Estate to be divided into 10 shares. "The Executor has purchased the shares of 7 of the distributees, wit: Jacob Madden, Wm. Buler? and wife Jane Madden, John W. Madden, Geo. W. Madden, Lettie B. Madden, and Sarah Ann Scott which with hisn makes 8 shares to which he is entitled. He has therefore but two shares to pay to wit William Madden his share of 118.37-2(..) On this share the Exec. claims a credit of $48.38 July 1, 1837 & produced the letter of his atto. He states that that sum had been paid to William Madden... to John A Madden, son of Saml. Madden, decd, his share..."

Gant. There are payments to the heirs named - Jacob Madden, William Beadle, wife Jane Madden, John W. Madden, George W. Madden, Lettie B. Madden, William Madden and one item from Apr 25, 1833
"By this sum received from the sale of a Negro woman & children belonging to the estate of Mabra Madden Sr.___ it being for ____ ____ paid John Thomas, James Bulger, Nancy Madden, Thos Jones & Mary by Mabra Madden Jr. in this contributions of the estate of Mabra Madden Sr. ____ of which he was executor..........................................$229.28.
