Ella Ligon Bruhl Shepperd

Ella Claire was born in Llano, Texas on Oct. 7, 1917 to Luella (Ratliff) Ligon and Walter Hiram Ligon. She passed away Feb. 21 at the age of 92.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Bruhl Doyle (late husband Pat) of Llano; Kenda Bruhl Steubing and husband Garnet of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Ken Williamson of Llano, Kasi VanBevers and husband Don of Waxahachie, Kole Steubing and wife Amy of Frisco, Kelli Steen and husband Kevin of Boerne, P. J. Doyle of Llano, and Patti Reynolds of Bandera; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ella Claire was preceded in death by her parents and late husbands Kenneth S. Bruhl and Dr. Ray Shepperd. Also, four brothers, W.H. Ligon Jr., Clayton Happy Ligon, Walter J. Ligon, and Lenox Ligon; and two sisters, Loleat Moss and Gertrude Williams.
Ella Claire was a graduate of Llano High School and attended Mary Hardin Baylor. She became a pioneer rancher and lived on Packsaddle Mountain. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church of Llano. Her oldest grandson, Ken Williamson, was her primary caretaker since 1990.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Waldrope-Hatfield- Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Llano with the Rev. Mary Margaret Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at the Llano City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Kole Steubing, P. J. Doyle, Kevin Steen, Don VanBevers, Brady VanBevers and Kash Hanson.
