Oxford - Services for Mrs. Tula Boyd Haynes, 90, of 25 Gwin St., Oxford, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Home Methodist Church in Randolph County with the Rev. Winnie Murphy [Murphree], the Rev. Frank Rasberry and the Rev. Ernest Lipham officiating. Burial will be in Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Randolph County with Miller Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Haynes died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty A. Steward of Oxford; four sons, Lloyd Truman Haynes of Homewood, Newman B. Haynes of Oxford, David E. Haynes of Bynum and Watson E. Haynes of Weaver; a brother, Rev. J. D. Boyd of Oxford; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will grandsons.
Mrs. Haynes, a Randolph County native, had lived in Oxford most of her life. She had lived in Colonial Pines Health Care Center for 2 1/2 years and was a RSVP volunteer for Oxford Senior Citizens and a member of New Home Methodist Church of Randolph County. She was retired from Utica Knitting Mill and was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Haynes.
