Comments: I believe my ancestor may be Elizabeth Madden, who is mentioned in the will of George Madden (Laurens Co, SC 1844) as Elizabeth Wilborn. Your tree is very good, but lists Elizabeth as dying in 1801. She was alive in 1842 when she was include in George Madden's will, and mentioned in his probate records in about 1850. Elizabeth Ann Wilborn was mentioned in her father-in-law's will as Betsy Ann Wilborn the widow of his son Champion Wilborn. Champion and Elizabeth had 3 children, William W. Wilborn, Amonet Washington Wilborn, and Sarah M. Wilborn. Elizabeth went to Bienville Parish Louisiana before 1837. She lived near Madden people in the parish.
George Madden's mother was listed in Laurens County records as Widow Madden about 1795. In 1810, William Hudson, Elizabeth's maternal grandfather, left last to Ursula Pool, Cary Wilborn, and Polly Wilborn his daughters. Widow Madden was listed as a neighboring property.

Hi Sherry,
I?m sorry I mistyped. It was George Madden who died in 1844. He is from Laurens County SC. His daughter Elizabeth?s birth says 1800 but I think it is more like 1795. I know of no other Wilborns in the county at the time this marriage took place.
I am researching the possibility that Elizabeth Wilborn, wife of Champion Wilborn of Edgefield County, SC is the daughter of George Madden and Nancy Graves. Several Madden descendants moved to Claiborne Parish (later Bienville Parish) Louisiana around 1835. Elizabeth Wilborn and her children William Wilborn, Amonet Washington Wilborn, and Sarah M. Wilborn were listed as members of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in 1837 and Elizabeth was listed among the founding families.
I would love to share info and learn more about this family.
Chris
