Notes |
- some records show him to be married to Ann Watson 11 Apr 1763 in Anson North Carolina; however Ann Watson was proven to be married to a different John, who was son of a John.
It seems researchers on the Internet have the two Johns mixed up. The John who married Ann Watson in NC in 1763 was an officer in the Revolutionary War in North Carolina. He was married 1743 in Virginia; died 1829 in Georgia, He was the son of John Moffett, b c1715 Georgia; and Margaret (Mary) Christian. He is verified by wills, etc. This confusion became evident after working with Patty Derrick, shells@delaware.net, who descends from the NC John.
This John Helm was still in Virginia in 1771 in Fauquier County.
