- Keziah OSBORNE was born between 1672 and 1680 in Virginia?. She died on 9 July 1736 in Middlesex County, Virginia.
Edward Ball and Keziah Williamson were the parents of many children who were born and were christened in Christ Church, Middlesex, Virginia. After the death of Edward Ball, Sr., who was Sexton of the Christ Church, Keziah in turn became Sexton until her death.
The Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, cites under the heading Mr. Duell Pead, Minister, 296 Acres, Rappahannock Co., on South side of the Rappahannock River, 23 Apr. 1688, p. 650, a grant given John Bibby 4 Oct 1655, for the transportation of 2 persons: John Creswell and Keziah Osbourne, age 11. This would place this Keziah as being born about 1644 probably in England, which would make her 52 years old at the time of the birth of the first child of Edward Ball, Sr. and Keziah, his wife. The last child of this marriage was born in 1716. It would therefore be almost impossible for Keziah Osbourne to be the Keziah, the wife of Edward Ball, Sr., but it is possible Keziah Ball was the daughter of Keziah Osbourne, the daughter being the one who later married Edward Ball, Sr., however, contrary data available may indicate that her mother was Charity Williamson.
This does not, however, mean that the wife of Edward Ball, Sr. did not have the maiden name of OSBORNE! It simply means she was not the Keziah Osbourne, age 11, who was transported in 1655.
