- BEDFORD - Wendell Vandiver, 68, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church with Kerry Wood officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Vandiver was born April 16, 1942, in Childress to Jess Wendell and Lenna Lee Vandiver. He had worked for Texas A&M Research Center, Chevron/Texaco and Ford Country of Lewisville.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Vandiver; three sons, Chuck Vandiver of Rockwall, Shawn Vandiver of Lubbock and Joe Weir of Colleyville; three daughters, Melynda Vandiver of Rowlett, Holly Hugo of Canyon Lake and Mindy Miller of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Byrda Woodard of Abilene.
