In the name of God Amen. I Robert Taliaferro of the parish of Saint Pauls in the County of Stafford being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and Testament in mannor & form following Imprimis. I bequeath my soul into the hands of my merciful God who gave it in hope of a joyful Resurrection at the last day and my body I commit to the Earth to be duly buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named.
Then I give and bequeath to my Loving brother John Taliaferro three Negroes by names of George, Sampson, & Will to him and his heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to my loving brother William Taliaferro that tract or parcel of land lying upon Peumansend Swamp in Essex County containing four hundred acres which I lately purchased of my brother John Taliaferro to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and if the said William should die without heirs, then I bequeath this said land to my loving brother Richard Taliaferro and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my loving brother John Taliaferro and his heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to my aforesaid Brother William Taliaferro two Negroes named Jeffery and Robin to him and his heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to my loving brother Richard Taliaferro that tract or parcel of Land which I lately purchased of Mr. Francis Hay situats lying & being in Essex County on the branches of Mount and Golden Vale Swamps containing three hundred and thirty acres to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and if the said Richard shall died without such heirs then I bequeath the said land to my aforesaid brother William Taliaferro and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of heirs to my loving brother John Taliaferro and his heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to my aforesaid brother Richard Taliaferro three Negroes by name Bristol, Harry, Sarah and two thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco to him and to his heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to my loving sister Eliz., the wife of Thomas Stripling three Negroes by name Cuffey, Tom, and Jenny for and during the form of her natural life and after her death my will and desire is that the said Negroes with their increase be equally be divided between
Francis Stripling, William Stripling, and Taliaferro Stripling, (sons of the aforesaid Elizabeth) or the survivors of them to them and to their heirs forever.
Then I give and bequeath to Francis Stripling, the choice of my young horse belonging to my estate. Then I give to William and Taliaferro Stripling to each of them a young mare.
Then I give to Francis and John Taliaferro, sons of my brother John Taliaferro each ten pound sterling to be paid when they come to the age of one and twenty years.
Then my will and desire is that my brother John Taliaferro be fully acquitted and discharged for all debts and demands whatsoever that I any way due from him to me.
Then my will and desire is that my Executor do as soon as conveniently may send for a tombstone with some proper inscription, thereon, as to their discretion shall seem meet and the same to be placed on my grave.
Then I give to my sister Agatha Taliaferro twenty shillings to buy a mourning ring.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my loving brothers John Taliaferro, William Taliaferro, and Richard Taliaferro Executors of this my last will and Tesatment.

The above last will and Testament with Codicil of Robert Taliaferro deceased was proved by the oaths of all witnesses thereto.

KNOWN ALL MEN by those present that we John Taliaferro, William Taliaferro, Francis Conway, and John Taliaferro of Snow Creek are held and firmly bound unto John? L?., William Daingerfield, Robinson and Francis Thornton gent. Justices of the County of Essex in the Sum of Five Hundred pounds sterling to ?which payment will be ?. ? to be made we bind our selves our heirs, executors and administra. To jointly and ?. To the said Justices, their heirs, and firmly by those present witnesses our hands and seals this ?? day of July, 1726,
THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if the above bound John Taliaferro and William Taliaferro Executors of the last will and Testament of Robert Taliaferro deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular, the goods, chattels of Credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands professions or knowledge of ? said John and William or into the hands and professions of any other person or persons for ?. ? ? ?.
