- Judith's and Cader's probable children
were-
1. Levi Cherry, b abt 1755
2. William Cherry (Willie Cherry in 1800), b 1756-1774, lived in Edgecombe Co and was married by 1790. They had a daughter by 1790; in 1800 he had a son and daughter born
1791-1800.
3. William Cherry, lived in Edgecombe Co in 1790 (there were two William Cherry families there in 1790). This William was married and had a daughter.
4. Willis Cherry, b 1756-1774. He had a young wife and three daughters born 1791-1800.
In 1790 he lived alone, and was shown as Wiley Cherry.
5. James Cherry, b 1774 or before, had a wife, two daughters, and two sons born 1775-1790, and lived in Edgecombe Co in 1790. He was not found in Edgecombe Co
after 1790.
6. Robert Cherry, b 1755 or before, lived in Edgecombe Co in 1790, unmarried. In 1800 he had a wife Mary Worsley, born 1758 and 2 sons and 2 daughter born 1791-1800.
One son was Theopilus Cherry, b 1800. One dau was Peggy Cherry, b 1798.
7. Wright Cherry, was recently married by 1790 and lived in Edgecombe Co. They had no children in their home then.
8. Aaron Cherry, b 1756-1774, lived in Edgecombe Co in 1800 and 1810; he had a wife the same age, and had two sons born 1791-1800. His sons in the 1810 census were born 1801-1810. Aaron's wife was born 1766-1784. Aaron died Edgecombe Co in
1830s. They had a daughter born 1801-1810.
9. Lemuel Cemetery, b 1774 or before, had a wife, two daughters, a son born by 1774, and two sons born 1775-1790. They lived in Edgecombe Co in 1790.
Children#2 to #9 are assumed (by Source JY) to be Cader's children from their close proximity to each other in the 1790 census, or were gransons of Cader. Many of them were
buyers at Wright's estate sale in 1804, and Cader was the only very early Cherry male in the area who could have been the father or grandfater, and who was born early enough.
Evidence is flimsy, but for now this is all we have. Cader is just the best bet.
