Comments (Matilda Grace Gibson b. 10 Nov 1866 Sabine Pass, Jefferson Co, Texas d. 26 Oct 1925 Beaumont, Jefferson Co, Texas): I believe Matilda Gibson to my great grandmother. I have been researching her and have come to the same basic conclusions that I find on your website. (Wish I had found you sooner!) I am wondering if you have ever found documented proof that Robert and Ann Gibson are her birth parents?
Her daughter Opal Courts Speer (my grandmother) had 5 sons. I see you have two listed: Homer Jesse Speer (1931-2006) and Edmond James Speer. The other three are Ralph Gerald Speer (1932-2002), Calvin Owen Speer (called "Pete" by friends and family, born 1934), and my father Garland Wayman Speer (born 1944)
Any additional information or advice you have concerning Matilda Gibson would be greatly appreciated.
