In the Name of God Amen I Jacob Haneline senior of the county of Rowan and State of North Carolina being of sound and Perfect mind and memory Blessed be god do this twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve Make and Publish this my last will and testament in Manner following that is to say first I Give and Bequeath to my son Thomas Haneline one hundred and twenty nine acres of land laid off and deeded to him where he now lives at the Price of three hundred and eighty seven dollers and no more of my lands. Secondly I Give and Bequeath to my son Nathan Haneline one hundred and fifteen and three quarters acres of land laid off and deeded to him where he now lives at the Price of three hundred and forty seven dollers and a Quarter and no more of my lands. Thirdly I Give and Bequeath to my son John Haneline one hundred and sixteen and three Quarters acres of land laid of and Deeded to him where he now lives at the Price of two hundred and fifty dollars and no more of my lands. Fourthly I give and bequeath to my son William Haneline one hundred and forty six acres of land only a small corner take of in Ha____'s line Beginning at a post Christopher Howards corner thence south with Thomas Haneline's line to a ___ corner Between Thomas and Nathan Hanelines thence _____ with Nathans line to his corner thence south with Nathans ______ to the original line thence east with the old line to the oald [sic] original corner thence west to the beginning at the Price of two hundred and fifty dollars and no more of my lands - Fifthly I give and Bequeath to my son Elijah Haneline when he arives to the age of twenty one years oald one hundred and forty acres of land Beginning at a linn tree on William Bailey's line, George March's corner thence East to a sweet gum from thence south to a black Oak from thence East for Complement and from thence ___ several courses to the Beginning at a Price of two hundred and fifty dollars and no more of my lands and next Thomas Haneline and Nathan Haneline is to pay back to John and William and Elijah Haneline to the value of their land that it is valid [valued?] at to make them all equally alike and Sixthly I give to my son Jacob Haneline thirty dollars in money that I have let him have and one Mare that I have let him have at fifty dollars which makes Eighty dollars he has had and I leave him as much more money out of my Estate in money as will make him Equal to my other sons land that I have give them. If their should be as much if not they must pay him ___ to make them all Equal alike and _____ my Blacksmith tools I give to my five sons Thomas, Nathan and John and William and Elijah Haneline to have the use of to work on and to let them stay in the shop where they are and if any should move away Let sell their parts to some of the rest of the Brothers. Next I give and Bequeath to my beloved wife Elisabeth Haneline my house and Plantation whereon I now live until my son Elijah comes of age and then he is to have his part that I have willed him and then my wife is to keep the rest of my land as long as she lives and at her death the land is to be sold and the money Equally divided amongst my five daughters Rachel Steward and Elisabeth Foster and Ellinor Haneline and Rebeckah Haneline and Polly Haneline. Also I give my beloved wife my oald mare and one Cow and one bed and furnature and as much of my household and kitchen furnature as will be sufficient for her to keep house with and as many of my Plantation tools as will be sufficient to carry on the farm. And at her death it is all to be sold of the Personable Estate and then money to be Equally Divided among all my children Rachel and Thomas, Nathan and Elisabeth and John and Jacob and William and Ellinor and Elijah and Rebeckah and Polly Haneline and Rachel Steward is to have no more of my estate Real nor Personable. I likewise give to my beloved wife a Negro woman named Pat Indure and her natural life and also a Negro boy named Bruffet until my youngest daughter Polly comes of the age of eighteen years oald and all the rest of my Negroes to be hired out the discretion of my Executors until my daughter Polly comes of the age of eighteen and then the money is to Equally Divided between my beloved wife and children Elisabeth Haneline and Thomas and Nathan and John and Jacob and William and Elijah Haneline and Elisabeth Foster and Ellinor and Rebeckah and Polly Haneline and then Bruffet and all the rest of my Negroes and their Increase are to be sold but Pat and the ____ be equally divided between Thomas and Nathan and John and Jacob and William and Elijah Haneline and Elisabeth Foster and Ellinor Haneline and Rebeckah and Polly Haneline. Also I give to my two youngest daughters ten dollars apice[sic] out of my Estate in money when they come of age and also I leave to my two youngest sons William and Elijah Haneline one horse creature apice to be worth forty five dollars each or Otherwise to have that much more out of my Estate in money than the other children and also I leave my horses, Cattle, hogs, sheep and Plantation tools and household and kitchen furnature to be sold that is not desposed of in my will at my Decease and that money to be equally divided between my wife and children Thomas, Nathan, John and Jacob and William and Elijah Haneline and Elisabeth Foster and Ellinnor and Rebeckah and Polly Haneline and Lastly at the Death of my Beloved wife Elisabeth Haneline Pat and her Increase is to be sold and the money to be equally divided amongst my Beloved Children Thomas and Nathan and John and Jacob and William and Elijah Haneline and Elisabeth Foster and Ellinnor and Rebeckah and Polly Haneline. I hereby make and ordain my two sons Thomas Haneline and Nathan Haneline Executors of this my Last will and testament. Whereof the said Jacob Haneline senior have to this my Last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Enter lined before signed Jacob X Haneline (seal).
