Beatrice Cooley, 91, of the Landrum community, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Magnolia Gardens in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Good Hope Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Tim Taylor and Cliff Jenkins will officiate.
She was a retired school teacher and a homemaker and enjoyed gardening until her recent illness. She was very active in the senior citizens' Young in Heart fellowship group and Sunday school class at Good Hope Baptist Church in the Landrum community where she was a faithful member.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John L. Cooley, and three brothers, Rufus E. Landrum, E.C. Landrum and James Landrum.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda C. and Gary R. "Ronny" Byrd of the Landrum community; two grandsons and their wives, David A. and Jana Byrd of the Landrum community and Daren R. and Tara Byrd of Ellisville; two great-grandsons, Taylor Byrd and Hunter Byrd, both of the Landrum community; two sisters, Louise Dickerson of Ellisville and Eloise Cochran of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Betty Landrum of the Mullberry community in Wayne County; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be N.K. Adams, Roland Barney, Dick Landrum, Albert Landrum, Keith Landrum and Raymond Landrum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery fund.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
