- James was christioned one day after birth. At present, I feel that James had a son by the name of "John". This is based solely on the apparent naming convention in the early Barnhill families. (apparently, the first-born son would be named after his grandfather). John would have been born about 1690, probably near Donegal, Ireland. For a continuation of this line of Barnhills, I recommend the website (genealogynet.com/resident/genejane). According to the book written by Jane (Currie) Wiley (Genejane) John was born in 1730 and was the son of Robert (b. 1700). James is thought to be the proginator of the Nova Scotia branch of Barnhills.
