Claude Edward Counceller

Claude Counceller, 69, of Connersville, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on December 2, 2010.
A Connersville native, Claude was born on October 9, 1941 to Thomas H. Counceller, Sr. and Laura Clark Counceller.
After graduating from Connersville High School in 1960, he entered the Indiana Army National Guard and was a permanent duty administrator for 10 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Y. Smith, of Liberty, on June 24, 1962.
In 1968, Claude and his brother, Chuck, opened C & C Tire service. Claude left the business in 1975 to reenlist in the Army National Guard Aviation, where he received his Air Traffic Controller (Radar) certification. He was appointed GCA Chief and was later promoted to First Sergeant of Company F, 238th Aviation Brigade, retiring in September of 1993. From 1975 until 2008 Claude worked as a Commercial Printing Services salesman. He was very proud of his family and loved them very much.
Claude was a member of New Heights Church of Christ, the American Legion, AMVETS, and Eagles Aerie 1065, where he was a past president. He was a sports car nut who was crazy about his Roadster, and loved spending time with his friends.
Survivors include: his wife; two daughters and their husbands: Claudia Y. and Donnie Miller of Connersville; Sherri Y. and Glenn Fogelberg of Russiaville; six grandchildren: Moranda Terwilliger and her husband, Adam, of Bloomington; Sherri Ann Gulley, of Connersville; Angel Gulley and her companion, Brandon Miller, of Indianapolis; Sarah Miller, of Richmond; Courtney Fogelberg; Eric Fogelberg, both of Russiaville; four great-grandchildren: Holden Gulley, Kolcun Terwilliger, Kaia Terwilliger, Matthew Snow; siblings and their spouses: Linda & Tom Barton of Indianapolis; Kenneth and Sandy Counceller, of Victor, New York; Charles Counceller, of Everton; William Counceller, of Liberty; David J. Counceller, of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
