- While tracking the Coats line after a researcher (William Tiffee wtiffee@yahoo.com, g-g grandson of Moses Butler Coats) contacted me, I came across that a daughter of Oliver Patrick and Cornelia Lovelady, Alva, married Ulysses Wilcox.
and bells started clanging loudly.
Thinking of the Wilcox girls:
Julia, Mary Jane, and Elizabeth Eleanor and Eliza, probable sisters, from Mississippi.
Julia B 1826; d in Dewitt Co, TX m Alfred Allee in 1854 who was widower of my James Lovelady's daughter..
Mary Jane m Andrew Jackson Jacobs - can't find relation but Jacobs was in neighborhood in Dewitt Co and was mentioned in a letter written by Mary Jones, who was granddau of another of James Lovelady's daughters.
Eliza m Daniel Cooley. Daniels bro Moses m Margaret Butts who was dau of James Lovelady's 3rd daughter. Also Bounds married into these families and Julia Wilcox was in census as young miss in household with Bounds, and couple of other family names in 1850 in Jasper MS.
Then Elizabeth Eleanor m George Jacobs, bro to Andrew Jackson Jacobs.
SOOO, really will bet Ulysses is connected to those Wilcox girls.
However, after running Ulysses' line, they seem to have come from Tennessee, did not find a Mississippi connection, though research not complete. But not looking like the same line of Wilcox. Segments of the Lovelady lines are quite distant, so could be completely different.
