Morris A. Wright, 92, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday December 9, 2009, at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born in a log cabin on September 24, 1917, in Center Township, Greene County, Indiana, to Harvey and Hazel (Holtsclaw) Wright.
He was a life long local farmer. He worked at Rogers Group as a truck driver until his retirement in 1982. After his retirement, he became a full time farmer.
During the late 1950s and early 1960s, he was on the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau Co-Op. He drove a school bus for Monroe County Schools from 1955 until 1967.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Dagley) Wright; his parents; his brothers, Dencil, Harvey Jr., Delbert; and his sister, Margaret Zuckschwerdt.
He is survived by his only daughter, Carol Kupper and husband Ron; granddaughter, Rachel Hanna and husband Doug; grandson, Seth Kupper and wife Allie; great-grandsons, Tre' Candelaria and Isaac Hanna, all of Bloomington. He is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Wright of Bloomfield, IN, and Robert Wright, of Arlington, IN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old Ind. 37, Bloomington, IN 47401. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ridgeport Cemetery in Greene County, Indiana.
