My grandmother left the orphanage a a young teen to help a man David Shaw take care of his sick wife. When Vada was 17, her mother Samatha got sick. Vada went toll her back to Macon and took care of her until she died. After she died she brought her to Ky and buried her 1 mile from where she would be living. She wanted her close to her so she could take care of her. I temeber my mother and her saving the money to buy the stone. She married Davis Shaw after his wife died.
