They were my 4th great-grandparents. I only recently submitted my mother?s DAR application papers (with supporting documentation) to the DAR and she received her membership this past Saturday.
Their son, Henry, who married Marie Prudhomme (d/o Michel Prudhomme and Catherine Ritter), was born in Berks County, PA in 1755. His real name was Johan Heinrich Herrgeroder, not Andre Neraut. He was the son of Johannes Heinrich Herrgeroder (John/Jean Hargroder), born in Germany and emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1733) and Anna Marie DeHoff (Marie Thebauth), born in Maryland. They never lived in Louisiana and are buried in Maryland.
I believe there were two Marie Prudhommes: Marie and Marie Louise, which is the cause of a lot of confusion. Also, Marie Prudhomme was apparently born in Louisiana, not Germany. Her father was from France.
The second Henry, son of Henry and Marie Prudhomme, married Marie Arthemise Louviere.
