Edward Mobley bought land in Lunenberg County, Virginia on 7/3/1750, sold same 10/2/1751; bought 396 acres in Edgecombe County, North Carolina on 5/14/1753 from James Green on Burnt Cote Swamp for 70 pounds.
Edward raised a company of militia "from Ensall's Creek on N. Side Nuse River..", Johnston County, North Carolina in 1750's; he was Capt. Militia in 1763 & 1764, Johnston County, North Carolina; resigned his commission as Capt. 10/6/1772 in Wake County.

"Mobley, Edward. Will R. July 12, 1777, page 92. In the name of God Amen. Wife, Mary; plantation whereon I now live during her widowhood with 100 acres adjoining to revert to grandson James Mobley, son of Jeremia Mobley. Son Jeremiah; land whereon he now lives to revert at his death to my grandson Edward Mobley, son of Jeremiah. Son Edward Mobley; 100 acres whereon he now lives to revert to grandson Ezekial Mobley, son of Edward Mobley. Son John Mobley; tract of land bought of Moses Kemp whereon he now lives. September 26, 1776. Executors: sons Jeremiah and William."
