Funeral services .were held at the Pentecostal Church here at 2 p. m. today for Mrs. Carlea n Ruyle, 35, wife of William Ruyje, who died at her home west of here Sunday after an illnes s Of a few days caused from pneumonia. The Rev. Fred Smith pastor of the church officiated an d burial was made in the City cemetery.
Besides the husband, three children, William A. Jr., Vera,-and Minnie Rose; her parents, Mr . and, Mrs August Geske; one brother, Samuel Geske of Hardin; and three sisters Mrs. Wilson B ailey, of Hardin, Mrs Emma Hadly of California and Mrs Bessie Hunt of Alton, survive.

Carlean married William Ruyle about 1922. William was born on 5 Dec 1895 in Illinois; died on 22 Nov 1977 in Boyd Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Greene, Illinois; was buried on 25 Nov 1977 in Hardin Cem, Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

William "Billy" Ruyle, 85, of Carrollton died Wed. Oct. 15, 2008, at St. John's Hospital in S pringfield.
Born in Hardin on May 5, 1923, he was the son of William A. and Vera Geske Ruyle.
On July 3, 1948, he married the former Blanche Walker Goodman in Carrollton. She survives.
Bill worked at Laclede Steel in Alton for 32 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of th e Carrollton American Legion Post, Jerseyville Moose Lodge, and Carrollton First Presbyteria n Church. He was a warm gentle spirit who will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Vernon (wife Sandra) Goodman of Roodhouse; thre e grandchildren, Tracy (husband Lige) Daley, Jeannie (husband Darren) Schulze, Kelly (wife Ka thy) Goodman; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Weyen, Kelsey Weyen, Jonathan Schulze, Abigai l Schulze; and a sister, Minnie Buchanan of Berdan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vera Black.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Airsma n-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Burial will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Carrollton First Presbyterian Church.

Vera E. Black, 71, died at 9:09 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Christian Hospital Northeast i n St. Louis.
A daughter of William A. and Armentha Carlene (Geske) Ruyle, she was born Oct. 20,1932, in Ha rdin.
She married Howard P. Black on May 23,1953, in East Alton. He died Dec. 23,1996.
She was a dietary aide at the former Wood River Township Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1 992. She was a member of the Wood River Township Hospital Retirees Association and the
East Alton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Mellinda Snider of South Roxana; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ke vin and Lois Shaw of Alton and Mark Black of Rosewood Heights; four grandchildren; a sister , Minnie Buchanan of Berdan, Ill.; and a brother, William A. Ruyle of Carrollton.
She was also preceded in death, by her parents and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, w here funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the First General Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights or the America n Diabetes Association.

Howard was born on 29 Mar 1915 in Galatin, Illinois; died on 23 Dec 1996 in Rosewood Care Center, Alton, Madison, Illinois; was buried on 27 Dec 1996 in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto, Madison, Illinois.
